Today Cammy and Bryent discuss Helena Blavatsky! Helena Blavatsky was a Russian occultist, philosopher, and theosophist. She was the co-founder of the Theosophical Society in 1875, and her writings have been influential in the development of New Age thought. Theosophy is a system of esoteric philosophy that teaches that all religions contain a common inner teaching, or "esoteric doctrine." Theosophists believe that this inner teaching can be accessed through meditation, study, and the guidance of enlightened teachers. In this episode, we'll take a light-hearted look at Blavatsky's life and work. We'll talk about her travels the world, her encounters with spirits and otherworldly beings, and her controversial teachings.
